Big Trouble In Assemblies Of God: General Overseer Under Fire

There situation in the Assemblies of God Church, one of the most respected in Nigeria, is so bad today that the General Overseer has been suspended by some aggrieved leaders of the church.

President Goodluck Jonathan and his estranged political godfather, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State were yesterday united for the president daughter’s wedding in Abuja.

Ex-militant and leader of the defunct Niger-Delta People’s Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahedeen Asari Dokubo has flayed the recent statement attributed to the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan that she is solidly behind Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike’s quest to govern Rivers State come 2015.

Asari-Dokubo warned that any attempt to impose Wike on the people of Rivers State would adversely affect the political fortunes of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party.
“To make Wike a governor in Rivers State in 2015 is not morally right. All the fellows endorsing him for whatever reason should know that it will injure PDP, it will injure Goodluck Jonathan. If Goodluck’s name is brought into it, that he is in support of the perpetuation of an Ikwere hegemony in Rivers State, which is not right by population, which is not right under any calculation, it will injure him and PDP”. Dokubo warned in a recent chat with Leadership.

14-year-old Bride Apologises For Killing 35-year-old Husband and his friends With Rat Poison 17 Days After Wedding

14-year-old Wasila Umar, accused of killing her 35-year-old husband and three of his friends while injuring many others after she served them poisoned food, in Kano, 17 days after their marriage says she regrets her action.
“Mine was a classical example of youthful exuberance; it dawned on me shortly after that it was a joke taken too far to resolve a forced marriage question”, Wasila, 14, said.
Sobbing as she spoke to Sunday Vanguard at Bompai police headquarters, Kano, where she was being detained, she added: “I have never enjoyed the opportunity of going to Islamic school or acquiring Western education. My father forced me into this mess by stubbornly forcing me into a relationship I was not prepared to live in”.
The girl, who hails from Yansoro- Kademi in Gaya local government area of Kano State, revealed that “though my target was my late husband, I must confess that my blood went cold when I realized I had committed mass murder”.
Wasila is in police custody for killing her husband, Umar Sani and three of his friends on the spot even as 10 others were hospitalized shortly after eating a local meal mixed with rat poison at Yansoro–Kademi, last week.
Narrating how she executed the mass murder, she said, “On the fateful day, my husband’s meal was prepared by the senior wife and put in my room as I was due in fulfillment of his rotational duty in a polygamous setting.
“I obtained the rat poison for just N100 and, at my convenience, mixed it with the local dish prepared for him. When he returned home for the feast, he came with those who were destined to die with him. I was restless but could not stop it from happening.
“I felt normal and slept after the incident but the consequence of my action was clear when I was picked up by the police and I felt cold for the first time”.
She explained that “destiny appears to have played a wicked one on me at this early stage of my life and I would rededicate the rest of my life to sincerely seek Allah’s forgiveness”.

Man Arrested In Lagos For Cutting Off Nephew’s man-hood

A 27-year-old man, Lekan Adelaja, has been arrested by the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly cutting off the man-hood of his one-year-old nephew, Basheeru Akintoye.

One Obinwanne Onukwo who sent Lekan to carry out the act has also been arrested while the child’s mother has been charged with negligence.

It was reported last week how Basheeru’s man-hood was cut off when his 20-year-old mother, Abidemi, had gone to a nearby house to have s*x with one Fatai who was a friend to her husband but the prime suspect was caught and the man-hood recovered, though it was already decayed.

Upon interrogation, Lekan confessed to the crime. He said he had been promised the sum of N30,000 for the man-hood by Obinwanne. It is believed they wanted to use it for ritual purpose.

Obinwanne however denied sending Lekan to cut and bring him any man-hood, asking if he was the one that sent Adelaja to cut off the baby’s man-hood, why would he (Adelaja) hold onto it for over a week after cutting it off.
Fatai and Abidemi has been released by the police while baby Basheeru would undergo a surgery on Friday.
When asked how he felt when he discovered that it was his cousin that cut off Basheeru’s man-hood, the father o the child said, “He (Adelaja) is my cousin. We don’t live in the same house, but we live in the same compound. He is not completely stable mentally, but he is not the violent type.”

Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the suspect would be charged to court this week.

SAD NEWS: Wrestling Legend, Ultimate Warrior Is Dead, SEE His Age

Days after his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and a return to the company after an 18-year breakup, Wrestling legend, The Ultimate Warrior is dead.

According to a statement posted on the WWE website, the late wrestling superstar was 54.

The news, posted late Tuesday night, led to a flood of tributes from fans and WWE performers and officials and comes on the day the WWE released a DVD in Warrior’s honor.

In the statement, the company said, “WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.

“We are grateful just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans. WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior’s family, friends and fans.”

The term frustration was yesterday put in proper context when an unemployed graduate of mechanical engineering from the Ekiti State University, Mr. Sunday Omotayo, was prevented by police and Nigeria Prisons officials from committing suicide.

[I was] bringing a life into the world and while I certainly had other options, whether abortions or adoptions, there was something inside of me that said I could do it.”
