The Federal Government yesterday said it has concluded a comprehensive
plan for the reconstruction of insurgency ravaged North Eastern part of
the country.
Chairman of the Presidential Committee on North
East, Prof Soji Adelaja, said this yesterday during a consultative
meeting with the minister of power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo in Abuja.
Prof.
Adelaja said series of coordinated intervention projects and policies
designed to reconstruct the region in close collaboration with its state
governments and federal ministries have been developed.
These
include emergency assistance and stabilization projects covering
education, health, infrastructure, agriculture among others.
Minister
of State for Power Mohammed Wakil who is from the region lamented over
the devastation inflicted on the region by the insurgents but commended
federal government’s initiatives to rebuild the zone.
Minister of
Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, pledged the support of the ministry through
quick win projects to facilitate the reconstruction effort.
