Olumuyiwa Aliu Elected As ICAO President

History was made today (Monday, November 18th, 2013) in Montreal, Canada as the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) unanimouslyelected a Nigerian and the first African, Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu as the President of the ICAO. The election, of Dr Aliu whose term commences on Januray 1, 2014 through December 31st 2016, took place at the ICAO Council Chambers. The Proposal of the Nigerian representative was made by his Singaporean counterpart, 
Ng Teachiou and seconded by the representative from Saudi Arabia.

Activities at night clubs and bars in some parts of Lagos State have positive and negative influences. Lagos does not lag behind when it comes to grandiose shows. Some people would even prefer to drum home this fact by using the slogan, ‘Eko for show’, a catchphrase for Lagos’ high-flying status.

ASUU Bans Procession to Commemorate Late Prof. Iyayi at UNILORIN












The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has put a ban on any procession in honour of the late ex- President of the union, Prof. Festus Iyayi.
It described it as ‘illegal’ the planned procession by the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), namely the plans of union’s faction led by Prof. Wahab Egbewole.

    The suspects
    A suspect, Pius Edward; his wife, Fausat; and her mother, have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the theft of N13m from Bishop’s Court, an Anglican church in Bodija area of Ibadan.

    Edward, a security man at the church was said to have broken into an office where the money was kept and made away with it.
